HID Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be an integral member of the NPI Engineering Team. The Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for new product introduction efforts with a focus on production processes for electronic products and production verification testing and functional testing, writing processes and developing detailed work instructions.

As our Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by:
1. Leading Industrialization of new products coordinating activities with Global Contract Manufacturers.
2. Working closely with design teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing with a focus on quality, cost and delivery.
3. Development of production processes and fulfill quality, cost and delivery objectives.
4. Identifying opportunities for process improvements in support of global production processes and yield improvements.
5. Use of CAD to develop jigs, fixtures and production tooling.
6. Troubleshooting product functionality as related to tooling and/or process related issues.
7. Assisting in the design, fabrication, documentation and test of various electro-mechanical fixtures and test equipment.
8. Supporting Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects and workshops.
9. Implementing engineering changes to production parts or processes.
10. Implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
11. Preparing reports - collecting, analyzing process test and capability data (yields, cycle times, trends, etc.).
12. Preparing and managing production relevant documentation such as work instructions, control plans, process flow charts and risk management.

Your Experience and Education include:
1. 2-year degree from an accredited Tech School with equivalent work experience or 4-year BSc degree in Electronics and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
2. Education or equivalent experience reading, understanding electronic circuitry.
3. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
4. Ability to work from limited instructions and procedures.
5. Ability to work with only limited supervision.
6. Proven ability industrializing products using advanced quality planning tools.
7. Mechanical aptitude with an emphasis on the ability to troubleshoot prototype designs.
8. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and work instructions.
9. Experience with Quality processes/tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, …).
10. Previous experience working in a Contract Manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
11. Experienced in SW developing C, C++, C#, SQL database would be advantageous.
