Job Description:
Venesky Brown is looking for a Project Manager with experience in Roads & Highways to start in the Suffolk area, to support our client who have been appointed to deliver off-site-infrastructure works around the Sizewell C structure in Suffolk. Sizewell C (SZC) is one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
Job Summary
As a Project Manager, you will ensure delivery of the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.
Scope of accountability may include the design and construction of on and off-site infrastructure that may include Park and Ride sites, Railworks, accommodation campus, temporary cabins, temporary construction roads, hard standings, utility networks (comprising potable water, comms & data, power, fire fighting water etc) and highway works (comprising bypasses and public realm works to adoptable standards).
Job Description:
* Site -based role 5 days per week onsite at SZC, Leiston Suffolk - £600-£665 per day inside IR35 depending on experience.
* Lead and manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to safety expectations, timelines, quality and budgets.
* Obtaining Permits and Consents– for DCO compliance requirements.
* Support the Senior Project Manager (SPM), Commercial and Procurement teams in the development and implementation of Sourcing Strategies and the development of tender documents.
* Provide written and oral reports and attend weekly and monthly reports to the SPM and engage with Site Delivery management for progress presentations.
* Respond to tender queries, meet with suppliers if required and provide input to tender technical reviews.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones.
* Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
* Interface with other projects and programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practices.
* Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth project progression.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, major complex projects, ideally such as HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, Transport for London (TfL).
* Experience in delivering Highway schemes within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
* Experience of working in a regulated Highway environment including local authority or Highway England, delivering S278 works and S106 agreements.
* Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works and series there in.
* Knowledge of Chapter 8 and experience in delivering or managing traffic management schemes. NRSWA qualification desirable but not essential.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
* Experience in contractor and approving authority management and delivery of adoptable highways and associated structures and utilities.
* Significant experience in development of programmes and resource management.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Intellectual capacity to deal with complex issues and work within our local supply chain vision, creating a one team ethos.
* Ideally, have a civil engineering background with a potential specialism in road construction.
