Who we need
We are looking to recruit a workshop technician to support our Engineering, Electrical Installation and Step in to STEM teams based at our Highfields campus. Key duties include:
1. Setting up practical training environments that involves regular lifting, moving and maintenance checks of machinery.
2. Work proactively and take initiative with limited supervision.
3. Record keeping.
4. Understanding risk assessments and COSHH requirements (training will be provided).
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will have experience within a workshop or practical setting, ideally with a background in Engineering or Construction with knowledge and ability to adapt to difficult situations.
1. Excellent communication skills.
2. Willingness to operate under pressure.
3. Support students undertaking practical activity.
4. Ordering of stock and maintenance of tools and equipment.
5. Ensure health and safety compliance.
