University Hospital Crosshouse wish to appoint two senior Clinical Development Fellows (2 posts) within the department of medicine at both hospital sites. The posts will commence 5 February 2025. Applications are invited from doctors for the position of senior CDF in General Internal Medicine in NHS Ayrshire and Arran who, by February 2025, will have successfully completed IMT training. This post would also be suitable for those candidates who have completed the UK Core Medical Training Programme or its equivalent and are looking to apply for Higher Specialist Training. The aim of this post is to provide development opportunities for the post-holders, while supporting our key service areas in relation to the provision of clinical care by a trained doctor workforce. The post will provide experience in the management of acutely unwell medical patients and development of procedural skills. The posts, although not recognised for training, are structured to allow post-holders the opportunity to further develop their medical career. This post is likely to appeal to applicants: Wishing to re-enter training at IMT3 level or higher specialist training level. This post will provide valuable opportunities to build your CV to allow competitive advantage at IMT3 or ST3 application level. Wishing to complete alternative certificate of completion of competencies. This post will provide valuable knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of acutely unwell medical patients with the opportunity to be involved in medical HDU. There will be regular opportunities to perform and develop procedural skills. Participation in our departmental quality improvement, audit and research work will also be encouraged, thus further strengthening your CV. The post will provide excellent experience for those wishing to apply to any of the medical specialities. Please note that this is a senior position with requirement to work on the middle tier oncall rota and as such successful candidate would be the most senior resident doctor on at night for the department of medicine. MRCPUK examination is therefore an essential criteria for shortlisting. Within the constraints of service requirements, we will tailor the job to suit your requirements. It is likely that the post will be rotational through two or three medical specialties. During the tenure of the appointment post-holders will have a minimum of 4 hours per week development time and access to a £1250 study budget (pro rata), to support them with the attainment of their career aims. A 40% pay banding supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and the core salary will be will be based on a salary range of £40,995 - £64,461. The posts are not recognised for national training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice by the time of appointment and have a minimum of 12 months paid NHS Experience.
