This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to continue building upon our current successes and steer the school to the next level of excellence. Kelsale Primary is a distinctively nurturing Voluntary Controlled Church of England School that provides an exceptionally inclusive learning environment. We aim to build a robust educational foundation for all pupils so they can proceed confidently to a secondary school equipped with the skills they need to succeed.
Situated in the heart of a picturesque and historic rural community close to Suffolk's Heritage Coast (with Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere and Snape Maltings only a short distance away), we are within easy walking distance of the local train station at Saxmundham, which provides direct links to Ipswich and Lowestoft.
During the past eight years Ofsted has consistently judged our school to be GOOD across all parameters, strong testimony to the dedication and capability of our staff, the support of parents, and the tremendously positive energy of our students.
At Kelsale we have a strong community bond, and we expect our headteacher to know every pupil, to understand and empathise with the stresses parents can experience, and to build open and trusting relationships with all stakeholders.
You will:
* be committed to developing an innovative curriculum incorporating metacognitive strategies, healthy learning dispositions, and positive classroom behaviour
* be able to engage all staff members in lifelong learning and inspire, motivate, guide, and support staff so that they believe in themselves and enjoy their work
* be a role model of professionalism, a gifted teacher, and a kind human being
* be aligned with our school vision: Together, we believe, we learn, laugh and shine
* be in tune with our core values: Compassion, Respect and Perseverance
* be gifted in communication and interpersonal skills including empathy, forgiveness and the willingness to listen to others and respect their points of view.
We will offer you:
* A generous salary package that recognises and rewards your leadership experience, commitment and performance.
* Access to local and national professional support networks.
* Continuous professional development opportunities.
* A highly supportive school community that will value your well-being, appreciate your efforts and recognise your achievements.
* An experienced staff and governing body with a consistent track record of working effectively as a team to ensure every child’s wellbeing, happiness and academic progress.
