POSITION SUMMARY
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, financing, construction, and operation of energy storage projects in Poland. The candidate must have experience in delivery of major infrastructure projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. The candidate will be supported by the company’s experienced commercial and operational teams in the UK. The candidate will be an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager and versed in the skills (from legal, finance, technical and asset management, etc) to oversee the development of greenfield sites, through to financial close and into successful operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Scoping and Development: Work with the company’s in-country origination partners to develop project scopes. Assist in the project design, permitting, and grid connection applications.
2. Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Assist the commercial department in developing country-specific and market-facing contract suites. Prepare, negotiate and execute the project document suite during development including supply agreements, design and construct/balance of plant agreements, and long-term operations and maintenance agreements, culminating in bankable projects.
3. Tender Process Design and Management: Design a rigorous and efficient process to obtain the optimal price and solution from a selection of potential project Contractors and Suppliers. Manage the process and interaction with the suppliers to ensure a fair, efficient, and optimal process. Visit suppliers and respond to all queries.
4. Financial Close: The project document suite will need to satisfy legal, insurance, and technical due diligence. In addition, there is a requirement to secure both debt and equity funding.
5. Construction Management: Manage the design and construction of multiple assets that may be delivered concurrently across multiple regions in Poland (and in other European states). Coordinate across all suppliers and stakeholders to deliver excellent design and then have a clear vision of how to convert the design into installation and operation to the highest standards of quality, safety, and to time. Effectively manage supplier contracts, review and contribute to contractor designs and methods, manage the relationship and contracts with National Grid, audit supplier works, and provide regular reporting to management and stakeholders.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Strong academic background, including both technical and commercial elements.
* Ideally degree or equivalent in engineering (electrical or civil).
* Experience running infrastructure projects through the entire lifecycle from scoping stages through development and construction to operation.
* Ideally strong knowledge of renewable energy projects: Battery Storage, Solar PV, Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Interconnection projects.
* Requirement to be comfortable in managing multiple cultures and business practices across time zones – there will be the expectation to travel and build relationships with a global team.
* Ability to work autonomously and self-manage.
* Ability to make independent decisions based on sound assessment.
* Resilient in approach and clear communicator.
