Deputy Chief Scientific Advisor
Remote - ideally based in Droitwich
Permanent, Full time
Competitive salary, including Company Car/Allowance
Do you have a knack for managing emerging pollutants and mentoring bright minds?
Are you ready to keep the public safe while navigating the world of dangerous goods?
Adler and Allan's Pollutants Advisory Group (PAG) is calling for a Deputy Chief Scientific Advisor who thrives on technical challenges, leads with science, and brings a passion for environmental protection.
Reporting to our Chief Scientific Advisor, you'll be the right-hand powerhouse guiding a team of Incident Advisors who are on-call to respond to chemical incidents and provide expert insights across the board. This role offers hands-on leadership, opportunities to conduct ground-breaking pollutant research, and the chance to shape how we manage environmental risks.
Why This Role Stands Out:
* Real Impact, Real Leadership - You'll be at the forefront of pollution management, not just helping clients but also shaping the future of the field. From research to technical guidance, your work here has real environmental impact.
* On-the-Scene Science - This isn't just lab work. You'll sometimes be called to support emergencies, lead projects, or speak at conferences, taking your expertise beyond the desk.
* 24/7 Dynamic Challenges - Science never sleeps, and neither do we. You'll be part of a shared on-call rota, ready to respond to urgent incidents (with an extra pay incentive for those night time calls).
What you'll bring:
* A scientific first degree (chemistry is a plus!) and technical know-how in pollution management or hazardous waste.
* A background in a similar role/field.
* DGSA credentials-or a willingness to train up.
* Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and the kind of initiative that makes you the "go-to" in a tough situation.
