Stowhealth is an established GP Practice in Stowmarket,Suffolk and part of Suffolk Primary Care.
We pride ourselves on offering an excellent, efficient andfriendly service to all patients.
We currently have two vacancies for part time receptionists,each position is for between 15 to 20 hours per week. Please see job descriptionfor details of the roles and responsibilities for this position.
Previous reception experience is desirable but not essentialfor the right candidate.

Interviews will be held week commencing 23rd September with a minimum of two people on the interview panel.
Main duties of the job
Offer general assistance to the practice team andproject a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either inperson or via the telephone
Gain a full understating of our appointmentbooking system including the operation of AMGP (Ask My GP)
Undertake a variety of administrative duties toassist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of photocopying,managing tasks within clinical system and clerical support to clinical staffand other members of the practice team

Job responsibilities
ReceptionDuties
To greet patients at the reception deskand deal with their enquiries in a professional manner.
Tohandle telephone enquiries in a professional manner
To instruct patients on the correct useof the Automatic Check in Machine
To make, alter and update appointmentsfor patients on the computer systems according to set protocols
To assist with patients enquiries onthe telephone in a professional manner
To accurately extract and re-filepatient records as and when required
To provide advice and information toall users and visitors of Violet Hill House and associated health teams
To provide holiday and sickness coverfor reception team.
Keep reception area and desk efficientand tidy
To pass on relevant information to teammembers to ensure continuity of care and staff efficiency
Maintain security and confidentialityof persons, equipment and information
ClericalDuties
Inputting patient information onAskmyGP and actioning enquiries received from patients
Opening & distributing the dailydelivery of post and posting it as required
Accurate and timely use of the frankingmachine
Registering patients and accuratelyentering data onto the computer
Ensuring that the patient data base isaccurately maintained by entering changes in address, name and otherinformation on System One ,Patient manager and associated data systemsaccording to protocols
Accurately entering and updatingclinical data on the computer records accordingto protocols
Accurately compiling cervical smearforms, HCA blood forms and associated data
Accurately entering Temporary Residentdetails onto the computer
Keep up to date with all protocols andamendments
Dealing with the incoming and outgoingdelivery of post to Suffolk Health Authority and Violet Hill House
Accurately updating computer and paperdata according to protocols
Undertake additional administrativeduties as required
Maintain accuracy of all informationgiven and data entered
Maintain accurate knowledge of, andkeep updated all written reception protocols
