When you join our Engineering Team at Telent, you'll be empowered to innovate and drive common solutions, working closely with technical experts who are proud of the impact their work makes. Come join a high-performing team doing complex and critical work. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.
Reporting into the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will join a talented team of Traffic Signals specialists in the Oxfordshire region. Due to growth and demand from our customer(s), we are in a position to grow our Traffic team in this region.
What you’ll do:
As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with an experienced Traffic Engineer to troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lights and electrical equipment in and around Oxfordshire.
Training isn’t in a classroom; it’s a healthy mix of ‘on the job’ learning, providing you with an opportunity to work towards an NVQ in Electrical Installations and Sector-based certifications such as ECS and the NHSS Chapter 8.
Who you are:
You will have an interest in troubleshooting, fixing, testing, and maintaining Electrical equipment, and some exposure to electrical work — whether through outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, telecommunications/radio equipment, or via a College course/Diploma.
Key Requirements:
* Motivation and willingness to learn on the job and online
* Experience in Electrical testing, maintenance, fixing, or installing, or a relevant Electrical course/diploma
* Ability to problem-solve and think creatively, working through fault-finding instructions
* Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
* Willing to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing for compliance
