Person specification
Education & Training
Essential criteria
1. Registered health practitioner with membership of relevant professional body
2. MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent route to Advanced Clinical Practice with evidence of meeting the nationally agreed capabilities
3. Learning and Assessing in Practice Qualification or equivalent practice assessor's training/recognition of teaching abilities.
4. Registered non-medical prescriber (where professionally appropriate)
5. Relevant role specific qualifications or training (i.e leadership courses, specific clinical skills, psychological therapies etc)
6. Evidence of ability and willingness to undertake full MSc Advanced Clinical Practice/or equivalent route to Advanced Clinical Practice.
7. Be able to evidence level 2 Maths and English (GCSE C or above) via original certificates, or willingness to complete.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
1. Clear and demonstrable evidence of advanced, autonomous practice in the management of patients / service users
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development through an advanced clinical practice portfolio demonstrating advanced level practice across the four pillars of clinical practice, education, leadership and research
3. Knowledge and understanding of the Trust's strategies relevant to role
4. Demonstrable knowledge of legislation, guidelines and best practice in relevant to area of clinical practice and application of these to practice
5. Demonstrable experience of working in a provider organisation and within a relevant specialty as Registered Practitioner Band 7 level for the fully qualified role or band 6 experience for the trainee role.
6. Experience of effective use of electronic patient / service user record systems
7. Experience of planning and organising complex activities requiring the formulation and adjustment of plans e.g. organising own time, co-ordination with other agencies and plans for sudden, unforeseen circumstances.
8. Evidence of designing, delivering and evaluating education and training in practice
9. Evidence of involvement in policy and leading practice change
10. Evidence of research involvement
Skills
Essential criteria
1. Evidence of effective leadership and risk management skills/Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multi-disciplinary team.
2. Able to demonstrate advanced skills for assessing and interpreting complex client conditions, comparing a range of options and taking appropriate action
3. Able to undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis and support aspiring and trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners through supervisory roles
4. Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation, and where there may be barriers, with staff, patient/service users, visitors or external organisations both verbally and in writing in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information which may require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills.
5. Able to work independently and autonomously as role demands
6. Ability to evaluate care leading to improvement in quality standards and service improvement
7. Able to actively research for the potential to improve quality and customer care, seeking new ideas and methods to improve health care
