Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust for the dynamic role of a Trust Security Manager.
You will be responsible for providing professional leadership and support for Security at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, deliver training, and carry out inspections and audits of practice against Security related policy and procedures.
2. Possess a wide breadth of security knowledge together with a range of management skills to deliver results and support both Management at all levels and frontline clinical and non-clinical staff.
3. Be open and adaptable to change and willing to challenge unacceptable practice that does not promote the safety of the patients or staff within the Trust care.
4. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, be organised and possess strong IT skills.
5. Be experienced and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
6. Have a team and customer focused approach, prioritising work to meet deadlines.
7. Access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary.
Knowledge and experience
* Knowledge of NHS standard contract and in particular with regard to NHS counter fraud and Security Management.
* Full knowledge of Information security management NHS Code of Practice April 2007.
* Experience in interviewing witnesses using the PEACE Model.
