Company Overview: Our client is a leading main contractor with a strong track record in delivering high-quality construction projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a new build school valued at approximately £30 million. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a prestigious education project with the backing of a reputable and dynamic company. Role Overview: The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of the new build school project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The individual will work closely with the client, design team, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage the day-to-day operations and drive the project forward. Strong leadership and project management expertise will be essential in maintaining effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of the project in accordance with agreed timelines, quality standards, and budget. Lead, motivate, and manage a project team, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and effective communication. Liaise with the client, Department for Education (DfE), and key stakeholders to ensure project goals and expectations are aligned. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and quality regulations. Track and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and clients. Mitigate any risks or issues that may arise during the construction process. Desired Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally with a background in educational or public sector projects. Strong experience in delivering large-scale construction projects (ideally valued £20m). Experience working on Department for Education (DfE) projects is highly desired. A solid understanding of DfE’s design, specification, and funding processes. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to handle complex project delivery challenges. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
