Facilities Estates Operations is responsible for the strategic and operational management of engineering infrastructure and built environment assets of the university, ensuring these are safe, compliant and well maintained in support of life cycle replacement and investment across the Estate. The Statutory Compliance Coordinator will assist the Safety and Compliance Team to ensure that Facilities Occupational Health and Safety system meets the regulation framework under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and subordinate legislation. You will coordinate and maintain the SharePoint Statutory Compliance Register so that planned Statutory Examination and Testing, undertaken by contractors and university maintenance teams comply with safety legislation and good practice. You will prepare synoptic reports on behalf of the Safety and Compliance Manager to inform key stakeholders that Estates Operations is meeting the legal standards that keep employees, students and visitors safe. The report will include information on outstanding defects and safety observations arising from testing, examinations, audits and planned versus completed visits. We understand that everyone’s lifestyle and personal commitments are not the same so, where possible, we support and endeavour to find the working configuration to ensure role requirements via arrangements such as flexible and hybrid working. Be part of a team that aims to make a positive impact on a safe and healthy campus of the wellbeing of our students and local community. We believe everyone at Lancaster University has a part to play in delivering positive change. Explore our website to find out more about our award-winning sustainability actions.
