Full Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Sittingbourne, Kent
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a full-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team at an SEN school in Sittingbourne, Kent. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work across a range of classes, supporting children with a wide variety of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and emotional and behavioural challenges, ranging from primary to secondary age.

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: 9:00-13:30 (Mon-Thurs) 9:00-14:00 (Fri)
Pay: £82-95 daily
Contract: Full time/long term
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Key Responsibilities:
Support Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN): Assist students with a range of needs, including learning, behavioural, physical, or emotional challenges, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum.
Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Work closely with the class teacher to support and deliver personalised learning plans tailored to the specific needs of each student.
Provide Emotional and Social Support: Help students develop positive social interactions, manage behaviour, and build self-confidence in both academic and social settings.
Assist with Classroom Activities: Support students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis during lessons, ensuring they are engaged and completing tasks effectively.
Monitor and Report Student Progress: Track students' academic development, behaviour, and emotional well-being, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessments.
Work Collaboratively with Staff: Communicate regularly with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students’ learning and well-being.Top of Form
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting children or adults with SEN professionally or personally is desirable.
A background in care, support work, or personal experience with SEN is encouraged.
Flexible and adaptable to work across multiple age groups and varying needs.
Willing to take on a range of duties, from academic support to personal care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
No driving required – the school is within walking distance of Sittingbourne station.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
