Collective Response Initiative York Intern
Work Hours: 10-15 hours per week, flexible schedule
Salary: $15/hr (not eligible for benefits)
Location: York, PA
ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
VISION: To significantly reduce the impact of substance use on the York County community and create an environment of continuous lifelong recovery and support.
MISSION: To coordinate and create collaborations that raise awareness and advocate for support to collectively implement solutions and programs for substance use disorders.
Collective Impact Initiative: The York Opioid Collaborative serves as the backbone organization coalescing a wide variety of key public health, public safety, and community partners across the OUD/SUD continuum to examine programs, measures gaps and outcomes to advance collective systems-level change.
Position Summary: This internship role will be a part of a small team responsible for driving Collective Response Initiative York’s work forward, in particular, supporting the rest of the team in completing day-to-day administration, community engagement, and communication.
1. Support backbone staff with CRIY meeting preparation
2. Attend and observe CRIY meetings
3. Assist with CRIY marketing and communication strategies to member organizations and the broader community
4. Support data collection and analysis
5. Assist with the development of a shared understanding of resources available, evidence-based programs, promising practices, etc. to advance learning among CRIY members
6. Participate in agency events and activities, as assigned
7. Assist with general office work
8. Develop organization social media calendar and assist with the development of content
9. Assist backbone staff with other tasks, as assigned
Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, preferably in public health or a related field
2. Minimum 3 years of undergraduate coursework
3. Access to reliable transportation
4. Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
5. Highly organized with an attention to detail
6. Ability to learn new skills quickly and efficiently
7. Demonstrate sensitivity to, and understanding of, substance use disorders
8. Access to a personal computer
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
1. Ability to travel to meetings in the greater York area
2. Ability to work independently with little supervision
