This is a rare opportunity for a Childcare Solicitor (2-3+ PQE) to take on a blank canvas role, running an established caseload while also building and shaping the department’s legal aid and care work.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a solicitor who:
* Essential: 2-3+ PQE (open to more senior candidates) with experience in legal aid, care proceedings, and private children law.
* Desirable: Children Panel membership (or working towards it).
* Essential: Ability to independently manage a caseload while receiving support from senior team members.
* Essential: A modern, progressive mindset with a compassionate approach to sensitive matters, including domestic abuse and care proceedings.
* Desirable: A guardian following or local contacts to help grow the firm’s presence in Pontefract.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: Up to £70k.
* Bonus: 1/3 of anything billed over 3x salary.
* Progression: Fast-track opportunities to Director or Shareholder level, potentially within three years for those who hit the ground running and bring in work.
* Hybrid working:
o First month office-based for in-person training.
o 2-3 office days per week thereafter, with flexibility depending on business needs.
* Supportive firm structure: Dedicated HR, billing, compliance, PR, and IT teams, allowing fee earners to focus on their work.
