Main duties of the job
* Support the Data Quality Team in ensuring data held across the Trust contains accurate and reliable information.
* Contribute to the Data Quality Team in providing an efficient and high-quality service for ensuring accurate source data which constitutes a major element of the information Governance agenda.
* Provide support to the Data Improvement Manager, in raising awareness across the Trust for the need for timely and accurate quality data.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Support the Trust in meeting the data requirements of clinicians, hospital managers, commissioners, and Trust Board.
* Monitor and promote data quality throughout the Trust, taking steps to improve areas of concern as highlighted by Local, Regional, and National monitoring.
* Develop detailed and precise Data Quality guidance documents to the specified standard for trust-wide dissemination, including departmental policy and procedures, strategy, and standard operating procedures.
* Work as part of the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme to ensure that patient related data held within the Trust is accurate and complete to enable reliable and robust reporting to support clinical and business processes, statutory information, and income generation.
* Adapt and improve local systems and procedures around data collection/input, audit, and analysis so that they continue to meet the needs of the teams.
* Provide support to the Data Quality Improvement Manager, and stand-in for the Data Quality Improvement Manager as required.
Person specification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Minimum of 2 years office experience
* Awareness of current NHS issues
* Experience of working with a wide range of staff at all levels
* Proven success at delivering against objectives and deadlines
Desirable criteria
* Experience of PAS/EPR (Lorenzo/Cerner)
* Experience/involvement in Data Quality activities (e.g. validation or audit) NHS Experience
* Experience and understanding of NHS analytical tools
* Experience of databases and the ability to extract data
* Understanding of the 18-week referral to treatment target
* Understanding of SUS processes
Qualification(s) and Professional Training
Essential criteria
* Educated to GCSE level within Maths and English
* Evidence of continuing personal development
* Willingness to undergo further training
Desirable criteria
* NVQ level 3
* ECDL Qualification or equivalent
* Excel Qualification
* A Level Maths
