We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to be based at the customer’s Derby site. The position holder will plan and organise daily activity for the allocated team within Toyota Manufacturing UK. The Team Leader will play an instrumental role managing the provision of the production supplies, ensuring the continuity of production.
We are offering a salary of £39,706 per annum.
Rotational shift pattern: 05:30 - 14:30 & 15:00 - 00:00, Monday to Friday 45 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:
Business Operations
* Effectively allocate team activities for your area of responsibility, ensuring tasks are distributed appropriately and are achievable.
* Map, challenge and continually review current processes alongside your Group Leader to ensure that SOP’s are robust, efficient, current and comply with Health & Safety.
* Effectively compile and deliver a structured and comprehensive shift handover enabling a smooth transition between the shifts to ensure operations continue smoothly and all outstanding actions are addressed.
* Appropriately escalating issues arising during the shift at the earliest opportunity to ensure efficient running of the operation.
* To oversee the requirements of the client to ensure parts are delivered to required locations to meet business demands.
Team Management
* Follow all required employee management processes in regard to performance, absence and conduct/undertake disciplinary investigations and hearings in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Motivate, coach and mentor the team, ensuring expected performance levels are understood.
* Identifying and working alongside your line manager in implementing appropriate training interventions to build a multi-skilled workforce able to operate in the most cost-effective manner.
Stakeholder management
* Maintain and improve current working relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring a professional standard of communication in a timely manner, building trust and confidence.
* Taking appropriate root cause analysis and a problem-solving approach to identified issues, seeking line manager /stakeholder advice on contentious or disputed issues.
Health & Safety
* Deliver the ongoing Yusen H&S programme through daily monitoring, application and delivery of the H&S policy, SSOW and internal and external compliance.
* Participating in H&S monitoring, reviewing processes and ensuring employees are trained.
* Communication of H&S matters to the team. Manage workplace safety continuously.
Key Skills
* Experience from a busy production environment (experience from an automotive industry or JiT environment would be highly desirable).
* Team leadership or supervision experience.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Flexibility and proactive approach.
* A full counter balance fork lift truck licence (essential).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
* Experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
