Experienced Production Manager
Required to oversee day-to-day production activities. Reporting into the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will have proven success in managing multiple departments in a food production facility for maximum efficiency and productivity.
The ideal candidate will be:
1. Highly skilled in change and people management, budgetary and fiscal management, an initiative-taker who can develop our culture of health and safety, quality, technical standards, and diversity.
2. A strong leader with demonstrable experience of building and developing high-performing production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop food production systems to improve productivity and service to customers.
2. Lead, develop, and implement continuous improvement across the production environment.
3. Maintain a safe production environment.
4. Plan and organize production schedules including labor demand planning.
5. Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company's internal capacity.
6. Ensure production planning meets existing and future business demands and activities remain on time and within budget.
7. Management of staffing levels in line with budgetary and demand requirements.
8. Manage staffing rosters, weekly payments, and holidays of the operation team.
9. Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including Performance Development Plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
10. Pro-actively manage health and safety of the production floor.
11. Lead and drive standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping through Good Manufacturing Practices and BRC.
12. Manage the training and development of the production team.
13. Introduce KPIs to drive performance.
14. Support company values to ensure a positive culture that fosters good employee relationships.
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years proven success in production management role preferably within food manufacturing.
2. Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
3. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management or related field preferred.
4. Understands Retailer and BRC Food Manufacturing requirements and has led teams to achieve Grade A or above.
5. Excellent people and organizational skills.
6. Competent in using systems.
7. Experience in financial budgetary processes.
8. Team player who values collaboration.
