This position will be based in our EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) Space line of business, which will be part of a team delivering international space missions for satellites, launchers, and interplanetary vehicles. The company works with both national and international space agencies like NASA and European Space Agency as well as working across the commercial marketplace supporting missions that include Earth observation, internet of things (IoT) satellite constellations and global positioning and navigation systems. Job Purpose
Quality Assurance Inspector – responsible for the inspection of incoming goods and materials
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* The role of the Quality Assurance Inspector shall be to work within a small team of Quality professionals to assist the department in meeting its goals
* The Quality Assurance Inspector shall take ownership of the incoming inspection process, ensuring inspections are performed, documents are reviewed, results are communicated and any issues identified are dealt with in a timely manner
* The Quality Assurance Inspector shall interact with all departments and levels across the business but will work most frequently and have daily contact with the procurement and stores teams.
* The primary task of this role shall be that of incoming inspection but other QA tasks including the inspection of parts in manufacture and/or assisting in root cause analysis of non-conformances may also be required.
* The role reports directly to the Quality Manager
* The role has no direct reports
* The role shall support continuous improvement activities across the business
* The role is accountable for ensuring allocated work is performed in compliance with company health and safety policies
Qualifications
Educated to A level, BTEC, ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering or science based subject/s would be preferable
Knowledge / Experience
* Experience and understanding of engineering drawings
* Experience and proficiency in using small / hand-held measuring and inspection devices and tools
* Experience with incoming inspection processes
* Experience in dealing with documentation at inspection - certificates of conformity, material certs etc
* Competent in the use of MS Office tools – including Word, Excel, Outlook

* Ability to interpret data and documentation
* Ability to record information by hand in a clear and legible way
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet agreed deadlines
* Ability to communicate effectively both internal and external to the business (suppliers) as required
