K&H Design is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join our small London design studio. The successful candidate, whilst having a passion for interior design, needs to be organised, hard-working, logical and flexible. We will give you the chance to grow with us, to develop your software skills, learn about budgeting and programming, to hone your technical skills and build a huge knowledge of suppliers, craftspeople, materials and fabrics.
But we ask a lot in return. Whilst being very supportive of the team, it is a creative, fast-moving studio, you must be willing to ‘muck in’ help manage the sample library and work hard to put it back together again after a busy few days of scheming.
Essentially you will get out of this job what you put into it. Ideally you will be looking for a minimum three-year position, working with us to grow your own skill base as we grow too.
Current Projects
The core of our work currently is in Notting Hill. We have three projects designing exquisite family homes, each entirely personal to the client. Great clients, who share our love of super and considered design.
Who we are?
K&H Design is a client-focused interior design studio, providing original and refined design solutions for beautiful homes in London, the countryside and across the world. Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of how people live are at the heart of all our projects. We collaborate with craftspeople and specialists to create elegant interiors that also work hard. Excellent communication (and strong relationships) with our clients, the professional team and suppliers underpins all our work.
We ask all our designers to excel in design with a propensity for thoughtful and accurate client service and communications. This also means they must become experienced in a range of drawing packages, managing budgets and programmes. As a junior designer you will have exposure and opportunity to all of this. Over the course of the first year, you will probably start to decide on your preferred interests and direction. Some focus specifically on FF&E, fabrics, suppliers etc. Others opt for the more interior architecture/drawing/hard finishes nature of the business. Some continue to embrace both.
We expect our junior designers to work hard, be hungry to learn and help the seamless running of our busy studio and in turn we reward them through career progression, a fun and exciting working environment and help hone their skills in the direction they wish to flourish.
