The Role
As a Registered Nurse Mental Health Nurse responsible for the application of the Framework of the Nursing Process to deliver high standards of client / patient nursing care for patients with a range of mental disorders, substance misuse, learning disability or co-morbidity, under the clinical supervision of the caseload holder / charge nurse / team leader, senior charge nurse or practitioner. The registered nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal and clinical supervision of students and clinical / healthcare support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
2. Registered Mental Health/Learning Disability Nurse
3. The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
4. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
6. Excellent time management skills
7. Working knowledge of basic information technology
It would be great if you also have
8. Educated to, working towards, operating at diploma level
9. Evidence of willingness to commit to continuous professional development including completion of Flying Start development programme within 1st year of qualification
10. Practice experience working in mental health or learning disability nursing at registered nurse level
11. Knowledge of evidence based interventions in the nursing care and treatment of people with mental illness or learning disability
12. Knowledge of current national legislation, national and local policy relevant to mental health and learning disability nursing practice
