Warehouse Manager - Stoke-on-Trent
* My client is a highly successful and rapidly expanding manufacturing business, based in Stoke-on-Trent.
* They are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join their busy production facility, working day time hours Monday - Friday.
The Role
1. Leading a team of up to 20, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for all aspects of inventory, including production, safe storage, excellent warehouse practice, loading, despatch, incoming 3rd party goods, delivery, customer experience and effective POD disciplines.
2. Ensuring all loads are delivered On Time In Full (OTIF); maintain close links with Transport and Customer Services.
3. OTIF performance losses and root causes analysis.
4. Managing a small amount of export business which involves loading shipping containers and observing necessary international requirements.
5. Working closely with Commercial, Transport, Production and Site Management teams to provide seamless service across the organisation and to customer premises.
6. Embracing and fulfilling the company's commitment to continuous improvement.
7. Ensuring the rigid adherence to all Health & Safety requirements.
8. Working with both the SHE Manager and Engineering Manager to ensure that all asset, building, FLT and warehousing are planned executed and fully documented.
9. Completing training, development, performance management, disciplinaries and successions in a timely manner, in line with company core values and corporate guidelines.
10. Always act as 'eyes of the customer' in ensuring excellence from both an aesthetic and product quality perspective.
The Candidate
1. To be considered for the role of Warehouse Manager, you should be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, comprising at least 4 years supervisory or management position in Warehousing/Logistics.
2. Experience of working or supporting a 24/7 operation would be an advantage, as would a background including transport experience (CPC).
3. Strong experience in optimising warehousing layout to suit flexible seasonal product demands, including management of external warehousing challenges (transport, inventory control, resources, customer services).
4. Working knowledge of inventory control, auditing (audit trail), fault and statistics analysis.
5. Safety qualification IOSH Managing Safely.
6. Ability to cascade business objectives from site to operator level in a clear and consistent way.
7. Use of SAP or similar database.
8. Experience of Continuous Improvement, problem solving and Lean techniques.
