The day-to-day duties include consultations, surgery (routine and more complex including enterotomies, cystotomies, caesarean etc) with dedicated admin time. They work to high general practice standards and have an interesting, varied caseload.
Based in a lovely part of the world on the SW London/Surrey borders close to Wimbledon and Kingston-upon-Thames. The practice location gives easy, fast access to London (25 minutes by train) and access out of London by car on the A3 if you want to head to the coast.
They strive for high standards of general practice and are lucky to have a wide range of equipment and services to offer. They have three (soon to be four consulting rooms), a dedicated prep room and theatre, a separate dental area as well as an x-ray, digital/dental ultrasound room, multiparameter anaesthetic monitors, bronchoscopy and a full surgical kit. They hold Gold Standard ‘Cat Friendly Clinic‘ status and have separate cat and dog waiting rooms and kennels which allows for minimal stress for all of patients. Depending on your special interests, they are always keen to invest in more equipment.
They are a friendly team of varying experience including 4 Vets, 2 Clinical Directors, 1 Practice Manager, 6 RVNS, 2 Students, 1 VCA and 7 Receptionists. The clinical team have a huge variety of interests from surgery to emergencies, cardiology to ophthalmology and although they do not have any certificate holders, they encourage all the team to implement gold standard learnings into clinical practice. They are proactive about encouraging CPD and sharing the knowledge with the team including clinical clubs which are lovely sociable Vet evenings where they share the most recent attended training. They aim to give every team member a great quality of life and learning/working experience feeling supported with an open, caring structure. They run a local dog show once yearly which is incredibly popular and much loved. Their culture is one of support and encouragement on every level to maintain their gold standard of care.
Are you searching for a career where every day feels rewarding and meaningful? The full-time position is typically over 4 days with a mix of earlies and lates (1-2 per week) and 2 in 5 weekends (one full Saturday only). They have one duty night per week of inpatients. There is no out-of-hours. However, they know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and they want to make it easy for you to strike the right balance. They would welcome both full or part-time applicants and are happy to be flexible and work together to find a rota that would work for you.
Salary up to £65,000 DOE plus Relocation Allowance up to £2,000
