The Complex Care Team support children and their families across NHS Highland in the home environment and wider community.
This is a very rewarding post to enable children/families to be able to access education, allow parents to have a restful sleep overnight knowing their child is being cared for to a high standard. The post holder will be joining a team to support the children within the service. The post holder will accompany the child and/or family during school/nursery, hospital appointments/admissions, outings and respite etc during their shift. The post holder will support training of the complex care team and families and assist the Senior.
Newly qualified would be accepted and/or community care/hospice care experience is desirable.
The post holder will be supported by the Senior and any training/familiarisation of the competency framework will be provided.
The post holder will assist in implementing guidelines and protocols.
This post holder is expected to be flexible and work a variety of day, evening, weekend and night shifts does include shifts and is a 24/7 service. Shift patterns and times are driven by the requirements, and needs of the children within the service.
While this is a NHSH wide position the post holder is based in Inverness however there will be an expectation that travel will be required to support the service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
