A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician within the Maintenance Department at our Aberdare site. Responsible for the maintenance of the Cable Manufacturing operations and Site Services, this position will be working a continuous shift pattern, as part of a small team to ensure effective maintenance programmes are implemented in a dynamic, high volume manufacturing environment. A willingness to work flexibly and commitment to work overtime is required.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician in a busy, high volume manufacturing environment. Having served a recognised apprenticeship in a suitable discipline and ideally educated to HNC level. The successful candidate will be mechanically biased but will have experience in both Mechanical and electrical disciplines.
The successful candidate should have experience working a variety of shift patterns, including continuous shifts and must be comfortable working on their own when required, using their own initiative with a strong desire to succeed in a sometimes challenging environment.
The candidate must be computer literate and have good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, be experienced in fault finding and repairs in Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems, servicing and repair of gearboxes and other large mechanical equipment, workshop skills including welding, fabrication and use of workshop equipment including a lathe, milling machine and pillar drill. There is a need to be able to demonstrate a good understanding of fault finding on PLCs including GEM80, Allen Bradley or Siemens S7.
Key Responsibilities:
* To maintain, repair and fault find on plant and machinery using various maintenance disciplines.
* Contribute toward machine efficiency and development programmes using existing maintenance programmes and CI methodologies including 5 why analysis.
* Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify and implement action plans needed to stop reoccurring faults.
* Completion of Risk assessments and equipment isolation procedures.
This role is based at our Aberdare site, the address of which is Harriet Street, Trecynon, Aberdare, South Wales, CF44 0TD. We are able to offer free car parking next to the site.
