Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Gastroenterology with General (Internal) Medicine at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW). The main site for this post is Weston General Hospital but as we move to full clinical service integration across UHBW, it is anticipated that there will be some element of cross-site working with Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI), to be determined through the job planning process. The post is advertised as a 10 PA post, but candidates wishing to be considered for a position with additional or fewer sessions are welcome to apply. The appointment of this position will be part of the 1:11 current consultant on call rota. Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their CCT and ideally have NHS experience. However non-UK applicants wishing to apply for specialist registration could be considered on a fixed term basis. The post holder will undertake a total of two general gastroenterology clinics per week and support the endoscopy service with both upper and lower endoscopy procedures. There will be inpatient responsibility for the gastroenterology ward on a 1:3 rotational basis. The post includes a commitment to the emergency endoscopy rota (1:6) plus the G(I)M on-call rota out of hours (1:11).
