About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic Support Worker to join our team at The Laurels care home in Carlisle, Cumbria. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to older adults, some of whom may have dementia.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. You will work closely with our experienced care team to deliver person-centred care that respects each individual's dignity and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering personal care and support to residents, including bathing, dressing, and administering medication
* Assisting residents with daily living activities, such as eating, drinking, and using the toilet
* Encouraging social interaction and engagement among residents through activities and events
* Contributing to a safe and healthy environment by adhering to infection control procedures and reporting any concerns
Requirements:
* Diploma or equivalent in Health and Social Care (or willing to work towards)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and colleagues
* Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing situations
* Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of vulnerable adults
