Description Suffolk County Council - StowHealth, Stowmarket, IP14 1NL - Hybrid £38,223 - £44,305per annum (pro rata for part time) Post 1: 37 hours per week and Post 2: 29 hours per week, hours are negotiable Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established Safeguarding Team within Suffolk County Council (SCC) as a Safeguarding Family Nurse and as such will play an important part in ensuring staff are supported to fulfil their safeguarding adult and child duties. You will have a specific focus on the multi-agency forums for information sharing and action planning and support the process of MARAC (multi – agency risk assessment conference), complex strategy discussions, and sudden unexplained death Your role and responsibilities You will assist the Head of Safeguarding, the Specialist Safeguarding Family Nurses, and Health Practitioners to ensure that specialist advice and support is available to all staff across SCC Health relating to Safeguarding Children or Adults be part of a team that is responsible for monitoring and developing effective professional practice in Safeguarding Children and Adults through advice, support, and training, of staff work with staff across Health services on all aspects of Safeguarding Children and Adults and will be expected to display high personal levels of competence, judgment, integrity, and personal accountability undertake MARAC research and the sharing of proportionate information as part of the MARAC process for those clients / families who are subjected to high-risk domestic abuse provide duty cover as part of the Safeguarding Family Team to support clinical staff with ad hoc safeguarding queries attendance at sudden unexplained death and complex strategy meetings as required providing relevant information which will support the assessment process facilitation of group safeguarding supervision for non-caseload holder staff assist the Specialist Family Safeguarding Nurse in the delivery of safeguarding training. You will need Registered General Nurse Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (programme with specific child & family focus) Post registration training in safeguarding children Education to degree level. Prior to commencement must have completed specific post registration training in Child Protection / Safeguarding Children. The team As part of the small, dedicated Safeguarding Family Team for the 0-19 Health Service, you will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding, and Specialist Safeguarding Family Nurse on identified and agreed work streams and ensure timely completion for the service.
