We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B Prison located in Fazerkley.
HMP Altcourse is a male prison that has a capacity for 1164 inmates that offers rehabilitation, education and resettlement services. The Inpatient Unit has 14 beds with a mixture of mental and physical health patients.
Hours
7 day service - 24 hours a day - hours per week. - 8:15pm - 9:15pm -
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary from £42, to £48,741per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Inpatient Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
1. Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
2. to shift manage other services on a rotational basis not just IPU
3. Form part of a senior pool of staff completing complaints/rota management/induction/1-2-1/Hr related incidents
4. Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
5. Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
6. Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
7. Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of
8. Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.

Qualifications required:
16. Registered nurse Adult
17. 6 month Senior Nurse experience - Desirable
18. Prison experience desirable
19. Ward management Experience desirable
20. Current professional qualification (NMC)
21. Evidence of Continued Professional Development
22. Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
23. Excellent communication skills
24. Proactive problem solving skills
25. Motivated as an individual and when working in a team
