You will contribute to ensuring a positive learning environment which encourages active participation and enables all learners to achieve their full potential, through the effective learning and teaching of students by assisting in the development, delivery and assessment of relevant resources.
This will involve supporting the Curriculum Manager in the delivery of the department curriculum to the quality and standards required, through an integrated learning experience that supports the student journey, delivering first class and high-quality learning and teaching experiences.
You will teach in the areas of Plumbing, Gas & Renewables, delivering mainstream curriculum courses from SCQF Level 4 to 7 together with ACS Gas courses for commercial clients. You may be required to carry out internal audits of BPEC certification procedures. The suitable applicant should hold up to date knowledge of plumbing, gas & renewables and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. Prior experience in the on-site training or overseeing of trade operatives would also be advantageous.
You will have a qualification to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related subject area relevant to the skill area with relevant industry experience. You should be familiar with current qualification structures in this area. You will be Gas Safe Registered with ACS Domestic certification.
Experience in Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps in installing, commissioning, or maintaining these systems, an F-Gas qualification or experience as a BPEC Management Representative would be advantageous.
Experience in delivery of Gas and Renewables courses would be an advantage, as would previous training or assessment of BPEC certificated courses.
You will have excellent motivational, communication and organisational skills. It is also desirable, but not essential, that you hold, or are working towards, a professional teaching qualification.
