To ensure the smooth and efficient running and supervision of site activities, ensuring the safe and optimal operation of all plant, equipment, and people, whilst delivering an excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervising various operational activities at Wokingham metal recycling site, ensuring compliance with all Safe Systems of Work, including risk assessments and method statements.
2. Inspection of materials being received and dispatched.
3. Ensuring all operations carried out comply with all current HSQE legislation and company management systems and policies, whilst promoting safe working practices.
4. Maintaining the flow of customers and Collard vehicles, improving the waste acceptance process where necessary.
5. Ensuring productivity is maximised at all times, communicating any issues to management.
6. Weighing/paying including entering tickets on to the FRED operating system when required.
7. Completing inductions, activity briefings, toolbox talks and keeping records.
8. Housekeeping to ensure that the facilities are kept clean, tidy and free of trip hazards and that the site remains secure during operations and at the end of shifts.
9. Ensuring plant inspections are completed on time and that all defects are reported.
10. Assisting management with the identification, planning and delivery of projects and site improvements.
The Successful Candidates will:
1. First Aid at Work Certificate (3 day).
2. Fire Marshall.
3. Full UK driving licence.
4. Experience in supervising waste management and plant operations.
5. Knowledge of the scrap metal sector, metal identification desirable.
6. Knowledge and understanding of all relevant health & safety and environmental regulations.
7. Strong planning and organisation skills.
8. Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work under pressure.
9. Ability to effectively utilise a range of software including the MS office suite.
