The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Somerset County Cricket Club to join our Pathway Cricket department as a Girls Youth Development Phase & EPP Lead. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Girls Emerging Players Programmes across Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall, ensuring that a pool of players is identified and developed to transition onto the Somerset Academy Programme. You’ll also manage the Somerset Girls Youth Development Phase Programme (U13-U15), ensuring its alignment with the overall girls' pathway and providing a clear progression pathway for female cricketers within Somerset. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the Somerset Academy Programme, helping young cricketers reach their potential.
About You
Amongst other essential criteria, you'll need to have an ECB Level Two coaching qualification and proven experience in managing sports development programmes and planning and executing talent pathway programmes, preferably within cricket. You will have a strong awareness of what is required to transition players from academy to professional levels, as well as talent identification and high-quality player development.
To thrive in this role, you are enthusiastic and passionate about the development of young players while being dedicated to self-development. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage high-performance teams, develop collaborative relationships, and motivate and inspire others. You’re a strategic and analytical thinker with robust planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Given the nature of the role, any appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If no ECB DBS is already in place, this check will be carried out by the Club. You will need to be eligible to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
In return, you'll be joining a team that values everyone's contribution. You'll receive a competitive salary, access to health benefits, employee assistance programme, continued professional development support, free parking, and more.
