Welding Engineering involves a mixture of Manual and Computerised welding processes. As a Rolls-Royce welding engineer, you will be responsible for providing practical support to welding development projects and supporting the shop floor to ensure uninterrupted production. You will also perform welding engineering activities to support welder and weld qualifications.

It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. What you will be doing:
Within this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture.
The product and materials are somewhat novel when compared to other vessel fabrications, pumps, valves and assemblies for a Pressurised circuit. The optimal candidate would have:
1. Exposure to exotic material groups plus a fundamental understanding of the associated tolerances / specific manufacturing challenges
2. Fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / Expert Elicitation / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final form manufacture
3. Specific Product knowledge of Core technologies
4. Responsible for understanding the relationship between Process Inputs to Process Outputs

5. Experience of fabrication of critical classified components
6. Knowledge of power beam welding processes is desirable
7. You will have a degree, or equivalent, in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in a manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering background
8. You will have strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving skills along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques
9. You will be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff
10. You will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
