Site Manager - Electrical/OHL
Location: Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central belt etc.
Salary: Up to £57,750 per year (dependant on experience) with a strong benefits package - plus extensive Overtime available.
Working Hours: 37-hour basic week, Full Time / Permanent, Flexible / Hybrid options.
Additional Salary Enhancements: Excellent Overtime opportunities (subject to project and location) (Saturday x1.5 hrs, Sunday x2 hrs). Business miles paid at £0.45/m.
Further Education Opportunities: CIOB / MCIOB chartership programmes.
Role: To enact the role of Client Representative on site ensuring that the site-based construction activities across Scottish Power- Strategic Projects are efficiently managed in accordance with Scottish Power policies and procedures.
What you will be doing:
1. Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations.
2. Review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes.
3. Facilitate regular site safety walks and hold coordination meetings with all contractors on site.
4. Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
5. Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Strategic Projects.
6. Coach, mentor other members of staff as and when required.
7. Drive agreed OFGEM regulatory targets for Sustainability and Biodiversity.
What you will bring:
1. Primary knowledge of construction and related activities.
2. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Strong leadership & planning skills.
4. Basic Project Management skills.
5. Proven ability to lead and work in a team and contractor’s environment.
6. Expert understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation.
7. Significant experience in managing transmission construction projects.
Minimum Requirements:
* HNC / HND or equivalent experience in an engineering and or construction discipline.
* SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or SSSTS.
* Formal training in Construction H&S, CDM, Risk Assessment & Method Statements.
* IT skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
