Job Description Our Renewables and Energy Civil/Structural team are seeking a graduate within their Edinburgh, Glasgow or Bristol office to join from August 2025 onwards. About the Team Successful candidates will be deployed to work on different projects providing civil/structural support for the following types of technologies. On and offshore wind Solar PV Hydroelectric – run of river and pumped storage. Grid connection works – cable route and substation civil Hydrogen production and storage Battery energy storage systems (BESS) Projects include all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both in the UK and internationally. Our clients are a mix between large energy utility generators to private developers. A typical project example: Lancaster University Solar Farm – AECOM was awarded the contract following the Client’s successful planning application for a private wire ground mount solar farm PV development. AECOM completed a reference design and prepared a full pack for tendering; this included the preparation of technical specifications and clients’ requirements. AECOM are currently acting as the NEC Project Manager and Owner’s Engineer during the build and commissioning of the site. Red John Pumped Storage Hydro – AECOM successfully supported the ILI Group to gain planning permission for the 450MW pumped storage hydro project. AECOM provided EIA, consenting, environmental surveys and engineering support from the early stages of feasibility through to a positive decision by the Scottish Minister. Here's what you'll do: Supporting the delivery of consultancy services on renewable energy engineering projects. Providing input into feasibility level studies for renewable energy projects in conjunction with the wider AECOM teams. Preparation of technical reports.
