Job summary
Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to; Hampshire IOW Healthcare NHS Trust, Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The opportunity has arisen within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's Finance Department to appoint a Senior Finance Assistant. The permanent post is part of the Financial Services team, and it is full-time ( hours/week) although part-time applicants will be considered. The role involves hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days each week - currently Wednesdays and Fridays - spent in the office at Tatchbury Mount with the team and the remaining 3 days could be spent working from home.
Financial Services is a friendly, supportive team looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join us. Financial Services has responsibility for overseeing routine transactional processes ensuring sound financial control within the Trust's main exchequer accounts as well as its Charitable Funds. The appointment would suit applicants who are either studying AAT or want to study, and who would like to gain further experience of a variety of finance processes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be undertaking a wide range of financial activities within the Financial Services team and will report to a Financial Services Accountant. The role is focused primarily on payroll-related tasks such as: childcare and net pay control account reconciliations, the release of payroll files and payroll correction journals. Other tasks will include raising sales invoices and inputting payment requests, providing good experience of many finance tasks.

1. GCSEs at Grade C or above in both English language and Mathematics (or equivalent qualification)
2. Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office

1. Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
