Our client, a national leader in the retail sector are looking for a Property Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Carlisle. The position will cover a substantial number of properties across the country, with the successful candidate being required to travel when required to support management in maintaining the Company’s property portfolio, whilst ensuring costs are within budget. Realistic travel will be 1-2 days per week on the road, with occasional overnight stays where required. This role is ideal for a candidate from a trade background looking to be off the tools and move In to a supervisory/ management position.
Job responsibilities
1. Plan preventative maintenance for all properties owned/leased by the Company and check day-to- day maintenance is up to date.
2. Produce technical reports following building surveys for planned/ reactive maintenance.
3. Create specifications in relation to identified defects, complying with relevant regulations.
4. Find appropriate contractors for maintenance work and ensure all work carried out is to the expected standards from start through to completion.
5. Ensure financial approval levels are adhered to at all times and monitor all invoices.
6. Communicate with consultants and landlords to ensure building regulations are met and project requirements are delivered effectively.
7. To be available outside of office hours for emergency cover.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
8. Previous experience in surveying as well as building and construction preferred but not essential.
9. Property Maintenance experience is essential.
10. Candidates from a construction/ engineering/ maintenance background are desirable.
11. High degree of flexibility to travel where required.
12. Ability to manage own diary.
13. The successful candidate must be willing to undertake further training for continued development.
14. Understanding of Health & Safety, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
