Equiom Group acts in a management capacity (trustee, director, council etc) to multiple entities and structures globally, and as such, has obligations under relevant legislation to assist the Client Service teams with the provision of AEOI (FATCA & CRS), ROE and TRS reporting and this is managed centrally through our dedicated International Reporting Obligations Team.
As a Senior Associate you will be part of the International Reporting Obligations Team, ensuring that we adhere to our regulatory obligations in line with global AEOI legislation and you will provide support and guidance to our global offices.
Your New Role
This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs:
* Work with the International Reporting Obligations team to ensure Equiom Group’s adherence to global tax compliance and regulatory reporting disclosure requirements, including but not limited to:
o Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI).
o Beneficial Ownership Registers.
o Economic Substance
o Register of Overseas Entities (ROE)
o HMRC’s Trust Registration Service (TRS)
* Liaise with the Client Service teams across the Group to ensure that:
o Review of self-certification forms in accordance with the reasonableness test
o Provide guidance to the Client Service teams in relation to forms received from external parties regarding their own due diligence obligations
o All colleagues have a knowledge and high level understanding of Equiom’s reporting and due diligence obligations
o All colleagues are aware of updates to legislation in the jurisdictions which impact their clients
* Work with Client Services in relation to tax compliance and regulatory reporting disclosure related specific trigger events, ensuring that all colleagues are aware of what triggers are and the requirements where a trigger event occurs
* Assist the Client Service teams with the annual AEOI reporting process to ensure that they have met the reporting requirements within deadline(s), to all known reportable jurisdictions for that office
* Identify, communicate, and mitigate incidence of penalties for all IRO’s
* Additional duties include:
o Assisting with registrations for all IRO’s on behalf of managed clients with relevant tax authorities
o Assisting with registrations for all IRO’s on behalf of managed clients with the IRS
o Assisting the Client Service teams with AEOI reporting
o Assisting the Client Service teams with queries from internal and external stakeholders
o Identification of data quality errors, recommendations for reconciliation exercises, and/or notifying the relevant department
o Assisting with training
What will you need to succeed in this role?
We are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for:
* Strong experience working within a TCSP environment
* Knowledge of trusts and companies and the roles within them (e.g. trustee, beneficiary, directors, shareholders)
* Experience of AEOI Global reporting mechanisms
* Experience of remediation of:
o Self-certifications
o Due diligence across information exchange mechanisms including:
+ Data Quality
+ AEOI
+ ROE
+ TRS
