DSD Construction is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Agent who is based in Cumbria.
Job Role
The Site Agent will be responsible for the management of the construction site, to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.
They will deliver multiple projects to the specified quality, required programme & maximum commercial performance.
The Site Agent will work closely with all departments to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner, whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.
Project Planning and Management:
* Plan and manage construction projects to meet customer objectives, focusing on health, safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.
* Develop detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely project delivery without delays.
* Attend tender handover meetings, conduct Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) with clients, and provide feedback to Contract Managers and Quantity Surveyors (QS).
* Complete the “Requirements Log” Spreadsheet and send it to the Buying and Transport Department.
* Raise requisitions through Causeway and assign a buyer for necessary project resources.
Documentation and Compliance:
* Create comprehensive job packs in the company OneDrive, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), site inductions, permits, site diaries, and testing reports.
* Communicate shift reports to all departments and log them in the job pack.
* Handover the Cost Sheet to the QS at the project’s completion, documenting it in the job pack.
* Ensure compliance with Company procedures, legal obligations, and relevant health, safety, and quality standards.
* Implement and manage the risk management process, regularly checking risk controls.
Health, Safety and Environmental Management:
* Uphold the highest standards of leadership in promoting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) procedures and best practices.
* Allocate HS&E responsibilities to site personnel, provide necessary training, and ensure their understanding.
* Oversee and maintain up to date HSE-related documents, conduct site inspections, and prevent environmental incidents during project execution.
Communication and Relationship Management:
* Attend internal and external meetings, maintaining accurate records of discussions and actions taken.
* Attend weekly programme meeting held every Wednesday, either in person or via teams. Attendance is mandatory.
* Attend Monthly Surfacing Division Meeting either in person or via Teams.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients / customers and ensure their requirements and expectations are met or exceeded.
Project Delivery and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure delivery of works according to approved RAMS, meeting specified quality standards and customer satisfaction.
* Implement Project Plans and management plans in line with Company procedures.
* Collaborate with the HSEQ department to ensure adequate site records.
Team Supervision and Handover:
* Supervise the site team, ensuring they are properly supervised at all times.
* Facilitate proper handover procedures with Foremen and step in site agents if applicable.
* If and when need you will make yourself available for holiday cover.

Knowledge, Education & Skills
* An understanding of the construction industry & contractual documentation.

* Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme & risk management.
* Experience & appropriate IT knowledge.
