To work as an autonomous practitioner in managing a more complex clinical caseload by applying more specialist knowledge and skills to the assessment of the needs of this client group. From the assessment, to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan designed to enable participation and limit the impact of their condition. To consistently manage a defined caseload of increasing complex cases independently, evidencing consistent problem solving and clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence based/ client centred principles. To be responsible for the supervision, teaching and appraisal of a Band 5 Occupational therapist, assistants, and students To take a greater role in the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service for Children and contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service, beginning to take more of a lead for some specific projects To provide a specialist level of assessment, therapy and recommendations to a more complex and heterogeneous group of clients with functional difficulties in a variety of settings. To work jointly with more senior colleagues and other professionals to support children and plan therapy accordingly.
