Join AkzoNobel, a pioneering and long-established paints company dedicated to sustainable solutions and creating a better tomorrow. We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to manage customs processes, data analysis, and compliance across European markets.
Responsibilities
1. Perform data analysis for preferential origin, Long-term Supplier Declaration, broker management, and product classification.
2. Report on import/export operations for European countries, ensuring high-quality service.
3. Manage communication with Customs brokers, AEB software provider, and logistics teams.
4. Lead change management initiatives, including AEB deployment and new customs procedures.
5. Monitor compliance dashboards and escalate critical issues.
6. Identify savings opportunities related to duty drawbacks.
7. Use AEB and SAP platforms for reporting, monitoring, and decision support.
8. Support master data management with country SPOCs.
9. Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Handle escalations related to LTSD and preferential origin.
11. Analyze and improve processes for origin determination and product classification.
12. Coordinate with R&D on classification cases.
13. Deploy customs brokers across countries.
14. Analyze volume and economic impacts of origin modifications.
15. Support customs audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of experience in import/export and customs clearance.
* Proficiency with SAP and digital applications.
* At least 5 years of advanced Excel skills.
* Knowledge of rules of origin.
* Preferred: Bachelor’s or master’s in Foreign Trade or Supply Chain.
* Certifications in AEO or Continuous Improvement are a plus.
