This Survey IDE role will see you work on mission-critical infrastructure projects across the UK, working on major upgrades and installation programmes. This is a field-based role that will see you travel across the UK to various sites, and travel to a Telent office for meetings if and when needed - full UK driving license required. The Survey IDE role is tasked to produce installation design documentation for Network Services projects. The focus of the work will be to perform Surveys at customer sites, documenting their existing network cabinets, cabling, cable infrastructure and power availability to assess and record its suitability for any proposed network upgrades/installations. Using the information obtained during the Surveys, you’ll then be required to produce installation design deliverables to support the onsite installations teams. Survey Installation Design Engineer - What you’ll do: Safety – ensure that safe working practices are adopted as the top priority for all activities undertaken on site and that they are supported by all relevant documentation correctly completed Quality – ensure you work within the ‘right first time’ quality culture of Network Services and that your work is always compliant to BS EN installation standards Produce detailed Site Survey Reports Produce Equipment Layout Drawings Produce Installation Guides Produce Rack Face Layouts Produce Cable Lists Produce Label Schedules Support the Installation Design Manager by managing the day-to-day Network Services project requests Maintain the Installation Standard Library to support Installation Guide production, eliminate Installation defects and upskill the field services teams Attend Project Mobilisation launches on behalf of the Installation Design Engineering Manager Review project scope and understand Installation Design requirements for each project Support field service teams through the installation process Consistently maintain an intuitive knowledge of BS EN installation standards Understand scope change and communicate scope changes to the project promptly Regular attend site survey visits in accordance with the project schedule. Survey Installation Design Engineer - Key requirements: Full UK clean Driving Licence and flexibility to travel where required Experience of Surveying and supporting the delivery of installations programmes in the telecommunications sector Computer literate, familiar with MS Office suite, Word, Excel, Visio etc Proven delivery of telecoms designs adhering to BS EN installation standards Competent all-round verbal and written communication skills Familiar with AutoCAD/MicroStation and other CAD specified software, and aware of 3D modelling packages such as 3D AutoCAD Ability to work collaboratively and in cross matrix environment Customer focussed and able to deal with internal and external stakeholders Competent analytical and reasoning skills Aware of BIM processes for successful Integrated Project Delivery Aware of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
