HERMEQ is an incredibly fast-growing online e-commerce seller of non-mechanical plant to European construction companies. Over the last 6 years, since our foundation, the group has grown to over 380 employees across 10 locations. Due to this expansion we currently have the following vacancy within the quickly growing marketing team.
Job Overview:
As the Head of Digital Marketing, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the strategy, growth, and operational execution of the company's online sales channels. You will lead the development, execution, and optimisation of the e-commerce strategy, ensuring a seamless, customer-focused experience that meets business objectives and drives revenue growth.
You will manage a multi-discipline team, including developers, product managers, and design. This role requires a well organised leader who can blend data-driven decision-making with creativity, driving innovation in a fast-paced and competitive digital landscape.
This is a hands-on role. You will have recent and relevant hands-on experience in managing a Magento platform and executing SEO activities (on-page, off-page, and technical). In addition, CRM (Sales Force) experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute the overall e-commerce strategy to meet revenue goals.
* Identify and analyse e-commerce trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to develop and refine in-house strategy.
* Lead the development of the digital customer experience, including website user experience (UX), content strategy, and personalisation.
* Lead catalogue management, optimisation of existing product offerings and onboard new products/categories as required.
* Lead the acquisition of organic traffic through effective SEO and content programmes.
* Oversee the Magento2 e-commerce platform to ensure best in class functionality, user experience, and security.
* Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to improve e-commerce processes and systems (e.g., AI, personalisation tools, etc.).
* Manage the Wordpress based Group websites.
* Team Management & Development:
* Lead and develop a high-performing e-commerce team, ensuring alignment with business goals and professional growth opportunities.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Country Marketing Managers to develop and execute digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email campaigns, and paid media in their respective locations.
* Collaborate with the sales team to ensure product listings position HERMEQ in the best way against competition.
* Collaborate with purchasing and operations in relation to product availability, lead times, and pricing.
* Work with customer service to ensure seamless post-purchase experiences and customer satisfaction.
* Data-Driven Insights & Optimisation:
* Utilise analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, PowerBI, etc.) to track and optimise e-commerce performance, user behaviour, and marketing effectiveness.
* Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the customer journey and improve user engagement and sales.
* CRM and Email Marketing
* Working with the sales and technical team on Sales Force (sales and marketing cloud) to ensure most appropriate data capture and re-marketing/engagement.
* Design and execute email campaigns to re-engage customers and promote company capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Required:
* 8+ years of experience in e-commerce and digital marketing, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
* Hands-on experience within Magento and Wordpress.
* Excellent knowledge of analytics platforms including GA4, console, bing, merchant centres.
* Proven track record of successfully managing and scaling e-commerce operations.
* Strong experience with data analytics and using metrics to drive decision-making.
* Preferred:
* Good knowledge of Adobe suite.
* Agile team management (JIRA/Trello).
* Familiarity with e-commerce financials and budgeting.
