Join the Close Brothers Wholesale Finance Team as a Commercial Underwriter where you will work a customer generated queue of applications for customers wishing to take out finance for a new vehicle.
Working with technology which uses an auto accept / decline model for some applications and alongside the senior management team of the Wholesale Finance division. The role will require assessing the affordability of applicants alongside the reporting of KPIs and flagging of any issues identified such as AML, fraud and suspicions activity along with PEPs Sanctions and similar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Checking all credit application documentation for new applications and ensuring adherence to the credit policy is met. Staying up to date with current legislation and regulatory requirements.
* Utilising the automated decision making process you will provide an accept, decline decision and be accountable for the decisions made. You'll be able to answer any queries related to the outcome of these decisions.
* Working to a high degree of accuracy to ensure reporting figures are accurate and are reported in a timely manner. Aiming to support the contract hire companies manage their portfolio of prospects.
* Supporting the team with additional tasks as required to maintain the smooth running of the office.
* Ensuring prompt and professional communication via phone, email & F2F appointments and handle queries as needed.
* Provide a first point of contact for customer queries ‘pre-drawdown’ for the Wholesale Finance customer base.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU:
* Have relevant experience reviewing applications, ideally in relation to vehicle finance.
* Possess a questioning mind in relation to both documentation and processes to help the department develop and refine.
* Have the tenacity to pick up queries and opportunities quickly and solve them within a structured environment.
* Have the ability to learn new systems to carry out the role (Showroom, FPS, CAP, Experian etc).
* Are able to use Microsoft office tools especially Excel for simple/intermediate calculations.
* Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
* Experience and a willingness to work to KPIs and SLAs agreed within the team.
* Strong knowledge of general level maths.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks on a daily basis in a busy role.
* Capable of adapting to different working situations when required.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
* Have prior experience of underwriting Consumer loans, preferably in a vehicle finance environment.
