Queen Camel Medical Centre is a family-orientated, innovative rural practice where we put an emphasis on a high level of prompt patient-centred care whilst maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.
A new GP Partner is sought for a permanent 6 session role after the upcoming retirement of a colleague following over 30 years of service to the local community.
We have a broad practice boundary, which serves over 6000 patients, centred around the picturesque village of Queen Camel, which sits on the River Cam as it travels from King Arthur’s seat at Cadbury Castle. This includes over 10 villages and hamlets, within which we care for one nursing home and several residential homes.
The role includes an equal property share (based on 6 sessions) and an above average income at a dispensing practice.
We have recently extended our dispensary and moved towards robotic technology to future-proof the service that we offer. This has enabled us to offer a 24-hour prescription collection service to the 80% of patients that we currently dispense to.
The successful candidate will join 3 full time partners, 1 full time and 1 part time salaried doctors, as well as a wider surgery team. We are a keen training practice with regular lunchtime teaching in addition to a mandatory morning coffee break! Currently we house GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner trainees, as well as developing a team of GP assistants to reduce the clinical burden on document management amongst other roles.
Our current operating system is EMIS web supplemented by AccuRx as our patient access service. Our CQC rating is good, and we have been fortunate enough to receive positive patient feedback as evidenced in the national GP summary below:
