Work Pattern: Monday to Friday 7.00am – 5.00pm plus alternate Saturdays 7.15am -12.30pm
Job Purpose:
1. Ensure that customers experience an efficient and effective service and are completely satisfied with the advice and support given.
2. Deliver sales targets in line with company objectives through pro-active sales practices.
3. Develop relationships with customers to maximise sales and margin opportunities.
4. Manage and develop the sales team members to achieve a high performing professional team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Management
1. Oversee the Bathroom Showroom Sales staff including managing their workloads, performance management and personal development, holiday and absences ensuring that all team duties are covered.
2. Foster a positive environment to ensure we deliver excellent customer satisfaction at all times.
3. Have a hands-on approach within the team, and be committed to strategies that increase productivity to achieve sales and margin.
4. Undertake reviews and prepare personal development plans for team members.
5. Deal with any performance issues arising from team members in line with company policies.
6. Utilise and develop tools for monitoring and improving team performance, with continuous aim of delivering a high performing professional team.
7. Support peers in other teams with shared knowledge and good practices.
Showroom Management
1. Liaise with supplier representatives to ensure product offering is up-to-date, relevant and suitable for customer requirements, maximising sales and margin opportunities for the company.
2. Identify problem lines for discontinuing, and new ranges to offer to customers.
3. Manage display area ensuring timely replacement of discontinued lines and introduction of new ranges.
Sales and Customer Service
1. Oversee the running of Bathroom Showroom Department, and be a senior point of contact for any bathroom sales related matters.
2. Serve customers on the phone and in person, entering quotes and orders into the CounterAct ERP system, and taking payments where applicable.
3. Converse with and establish the customers purchase needs, establish materials required from customers plans and specifications.
4. Negotiate with customers and produce quotations, provide advice on alternative and/or more suitable products.
5. Negotiate with suppliers and agree purchases of products where necessary.
6. Identify key customer accounts for development, and work proactively with other employees and managers to develop relationships to increase account activity and sales.
7. Work with senior management team to improve the sales processes and controls.
8. Ensure customers receive a prompt and professional service at all times.
9. Monitor reports to ensure sales administration is up to date and accurate in both electronic and paper forms.
Health and Safety
* Comply with Health and Safety regulations and requirements to ensure the safety of yourself, team members, colleagues and customers.
* Report any incidents to Health & Safety Officer that have led or may lead to injury or damage.
* Use the appropriate personal protective equipment in order to meet statutory obligation or Company requirement.
* Ensure the showroom areas are kept clean and tidy.
General
* Attend and participate in all relevant manager and departmental meetings.
* Adopt a flexible working approach and assist Senior Management with tasks where required.
* Develop product knowledge by attending supplier and in-house product training, as well as online and telephone research where appropriate.
* Operate at all times in line with Company values.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by Management to aid in the efficient and effective trading of the Company.
Person Specification:
1. Bathroom Showroom and Managerial experience desirable.
2. Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt these to suit varying customers.
3. Strong listening skills.
4. Good numeracy skills.
5. Excellent product knowledge and a willingness to learn about new products.
6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn additional software packages.
7. Working knowledge of CAD programmes / the ability to learn these.
8. Experience of working as part of a team.
9. Driven to develop their own behaviours and skills to ensure they consistently improve and perform to a high standard.
10. Proactive and enthusiastic.
11. Able to multitask.
12. Possesses strong resilience with the ability to stay calm and professional during busier periods.
13. Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills.
