Dartington House, Oxford Deputy Team Leader- Microsoft Platform Services Team IT Services We have an exciting opportunity available for a Deputy Team Leader to join us on a permanent basis. You will have the opportunity to take a leading role in shaping the service delivery strategy for Microsoft infrastructure, managing technical teams, and contributing to continuous improvements. As a Deputy Team Leader, you will ensure services and systems are designed, developed, and managed to the highest standards, while supporting your team’s growth and development. About the Department
The IT Services department at the University of Oxford plays a key role in supporting the University's mission to deliver world-leading education, research, and services. Our Microsoft Platform Services Team is at the heart of the University's infrastructure, responsible for managing and developing a range of critical services and systems running primarily on a Microsoft-based platform. The team works collaboratively with a diverse group of technical and operational experts to provide reliable and secure services to our staff, students, and the wider University community.

About the Role
1. As a Deputy Team Leader within the Microsoft Platform Services team, you will be instrumental in managing and developing the University's Microsoft infrastructure services. You will work alongside the Team Leader to deliver high-quality IT services, manage the performance of your technical team, and ensure that services are aligned with the University's strategic goals. You will take a leadership role in service delivery, designing continuous service improvement plans and ensuring effective service management processes are in place.
2. This is a highly collaborative role where you will engage with internal and external stakeholders, including service owners, suppliers, and users, to ensure that services are aligned with business requirements. You will also be responsible for the development of technical strategies and roadmaps to ensure the future-proofing of services and systems, actively contributing your technical expertise to decision-making processes across the department and the wider University.
3. The role also offers opportunities for personal development, with the potential to deputise for the Team Leader and contribute to strategic projects across the University. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring that the Microsoft Platform Services team operates efficiently, securely, and with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
About You
1. Have demonstrable experience of providing leadership to expert technical teams, including recruitment, staff development, and performance management.
2. Are familiar with IT service management processes, with a strong focus on service delivery and continuous improvement.
3. Have strong technical expertise in supporting Microsoft infrastructure and can lead technical teams effectively.
4. Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical ideas to a variety of audiences and produce accurate documentation.
5. Demonstrate the ability to manage resources and priorities in a collaborative environment to deliver services and infrastructure efficiently.
