CNC Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join a thriving private sports facility located just outside the historic town of Sherborne. With a strong community of over 600 members and a busy calendar of events, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, people-focused environment where no two days are the same.
You will take charge of the kitchen, designing and delivering a daily breakfast and lunch menu, while also catering for bespoke private dining events. You’ll enjoy consistent pay throughout the year, regardless of seasonal fluctuations in working hours:
Paid for 40 hours/week
Summer (Apr–Oct): Typically 45 hours/week
Winter (Nov–Mar): Typically 35 hours/week
Shifts remain sociable, rarely running past 9 p.m., even during peak season.
Location: Sherborne, Dorset
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per year
Schedule: 8-hour shifts | Flexitime | 5 days over 7 (weekend work essential)
Requirements
* Deliver high-quality meals in both bar and dining room settings
* Plan and manage daily menus in line with club expectations
* Ensure kitchen hygiene and food safety standards are met
* Assist with stock ordering and manage food storage
* Supervise a part-time chef (approx. 25 hrs/week) during larger events
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum 2 years’ catering experience
* Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene
* Ability to manage a kitchen and handle high-volume service (100+ covers/day)
* A flexible, team-oriented individual with a customer-first mindset
