As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will lead delivery of Technical Engineering and Safety Rules Authorisation training. Your skills will help develop new members of staff and upskill existing staff.
You will work closely with the Craft Training Managers to ensure Technical Training have short, medium and longer-term plans in place for people, facilities, and processes to deliver the range of accredited trainee programmes required to ensure the pipeline of future talent required as part of the business Workforce Renewal programme.
What you’ll be doing
1. Carry out observations and other processes as required to maintain highest standards of delivery, assessment and user engagement.
2. Ensure Technical Training effectively delivers on the responsibility to ensure that all trainees achieve the required standards for their specific qualification, including assessments, documentation, and audits.
3. Keep up to date with best practice in the utility field with particular emphasis upon craft apprenticeships, training programmes, and facilities.
4. Ensure that relevant Quality Assurance processes are understood and adhered to, working closely with Technical Programme Lead on opportunities for continuous improvement and process development.
5. Manage internal audits as required and support wider Technical Training audits.
What you’ll bring
1. Demonstrable experience as an engineer involved in Technical / Operational duties on an electrical system.
2. Knowledge, understanding and ability to deliver several technical courses to a wide range of staff required to work safely within the electricity supply industry.
3. Demonstrable knowledge and practical skills to deliver training and assess technical members of staff within SP company standards.
4. Full Driving Licence as required to travel to different sites to deliver training.
